Description of the process for practical training

Preparation for practical training (1 – 6 months prior to the practical training)

Books locations and suggests possible places for practical training

 

Participates in any supervisor training, supervisor meetings at the university

Participates in the introduction of the practical training

Arranges a first introduction a few months before the practical training begins

 

 

Requests validation of the practical training based on previous knowledge in the field

Responsible for contracts to be written and updated with the places for practical training

 

 

Makes proposals on practical training, books a place for practical training along with the responsible examiner

Updates Asta and Itslearning in collaboration with the supervising teacher

 

 

 

Introduction to practical training (2 – 4 weeks prior to the practical training)

Contacts all practical training places with materials, informs them of the practical arrangements

 

Becomes acquainted with the written material

Contacts and/or visites the work place and the client group

Informs students about the practical training, occupational safety and insurance

 

Participates in any supervisor training, supervisor meetings at the university

Learns the skills, learning outcomes and examination requirements

Updates Itslearning

 

 

 

Cooperates with supervising teachers on the division of work during practical training

 

 

 

Responsibilities during the ongoing practical training

Follows up the implementation of the practical training period by discussing with the supervising teacher

Supports the student in the learning process

Introduces the student to the business

During the first week the student designs his/her own learning objectives (in the column for the purpose in the evaluation form)

 

Maintains contact with the placement supervisor

Supports students in the learning process

Takes responsibility for their own learning and actively uses supervision resources

 

Responsible for the making of the assessment as a three party assessment between the student, placement supervisors and supervising teachers (by visiting the workplace, as a seminar at the university, by telephone or otherwise)

Continually assesses the student's practical training/learning outcomes (at least one middle valuation and a final valuation discussion)

Continually evaluates their learning (at least one middle valuation and a final valuation discussion)

 

 

Contacts the supervising teacher if necessary

 

 

Completes and returns the evaluation to the supervising teacher/examiner

Writes a reflection diary in the e-portfolio as agreed with the supervising teacher

 

 

 

Prepares for the middle evaluation and final evaluation discussion with the placement supervisor

 

 

 

Submits assignments on time

Arranges follow-up day for students in consultation with the supervising teacher

Assesses practical training with pass or fail and gives feedback to the student

 

Participates in the follow-up day(s)

Inserts attainment in Asta
